System Mapping
When several data sources find the same system, merge their records into one, so reports and searches count it once.
Key benefits
A database server can appear in your directory, your vault and your infrastructure tools. Each record holds part of the story, and reports count the server once per source.
System Mapping lets you choose a primary system and add the matching records from other sources as secondaries. The duplicates resolve to one system across reports and searches.
How it works
1. Pick the primary system
Choose the record that stands for the system.
2. Add the matching records
Add the same system as other data sources found it.
3. Report on one system
Reports and searches treat the mapped records as one.
